Distributor Promopeddler.com is up for sale — or merger, according to Counselor. The one-time fast-growing distributor fell way behind in 2008 with slumping sales continuing into 2009. Promopeddler’s president, Monte Baumgartner, tells Counselor sales are down about half.
Promopeddler reached revenues of about $9 million in 2008, despite executives’ estimates as late as last summer that revenues would be closer to $12 million. The Oregon-based company is 10 years old and is run by Baumgartner and his partner, Lewis Amicone. They once enjoyed three-year growth of 865 percent.
